David Johnson is a veteran Information Technology executive with deep expertise in both cybersecurity and infrastructure innovation. Currently serving as Chief Information Officer at Austin Water, he has held dual roles as CIO and CISO for multiple utilities in the electric and water sectors. David previously played a pivotal role at EPB of Chattanooga, helping launch one of North America’s first fully automated electric grids, and served as Director at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), where he contributed to the evolution of Texas’s deregulated energy market. With additional experience at Deloitte & Touche Outsourcing, Solid Systems, and American Airlines, he brings a strategic, cross-industry approach to IT leadership and smart grid development.
